1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
1.1 Personal information you disclose to us
In Short: We collect personal information you provide when you register, use the Services, or contact us.
The personal information we collect may include:

- Account identifiers (such as username)
- Authentication data (e.g., password or tokens, where applicable)
- Limited profile information you choose to provide (e.g., gender, if provided)
Payment Data
If you make purchases, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store complete payment card numbers. Stripe may collect and process payment information according to its privacy notice: https://stripe.com/privacy.
1.2 Information collected automatically
In Short: Some information is collected automatically when you visit or use our Services.
This may include:
- Log and usage data (e.g., IP address, timestamps, pages viewed, feature usage, errors)

- Approximate location inferred from IP address (not precise GPS)
1.3 Browser Extension information
In Short: We collect information through the Extension to provide Snowball’s features.
If you install and use the Extension, we may collect:
- Browser information (browser type/version, extension version, diagnostic events)
- Extension usage events (feature usage, timestamps, error logs)
- Browsing activity limited to Snowball functionality, meaning only information necessary to perform the user-requested actions within the Extension and Services (e.g., URLs or page context relevant to supported platform analysis when you activate/operate the Extension)
We do not collect private messages, private account content, or restricted content through the Extension.
1.4 Public platform data (e.g., TikTok)
In Short: We process publicly available data or data explicitly provided by users.
Snowball only processes:
- data that is publicly available on supported platforms; and/or
- data explicitly provided by users.
We do not access private accounts, private messages, or restricted content.

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication, session management, and security (including Supabase authentication cookies). We may also use limited analytics for performance and reliability.

Our use of information received from Google APIs (if any) will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process information to operate, secure, and improve Snowball.
We process your information for purposes such as:
- Account creation, authentication, and user management
- Providing the Services, including social media analysis and AI-generated insights you request
- Customer support and responding to inquiries
- Billing and subscription management
- Security, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention (including trial abuse prevention)
- Improving and maintaining the Services, including reliability, performance, and feature development
- Compliance with legal obligations and enforcing our terms
Trial abuse prevention
To prevent repeated trials and abuse, we may store email hashes and related metadata and use them to detect repeated signups.
3. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
In Short: We share information with service providers to operate the Services, and in limited cases for legal/compliance or business transfers.
We may share your information with vendors and service providers who help us provide the Services, such as:
- Supabase (database and authentication)
- Stripe (billing and payments)
- Hosting providers (e.g., Vercel and others)
- Apify and/or other data collection providers (data collection and processing)
- Analytics and monitoring providers (to understand performance and reliability)
- AI service providers (e.g., OpenAI and Google GenAI) for analysis you request (see Section 5)
We may also share information:
- During business transfers (e.g., merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets)
- For legal reasons (e.g., to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights/safety, prevent fraud)
4. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?
In Short: Yes, primarily for essential operation, security, and limited analytics.
We may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- keep you logged in and maintain sessions,
- prevent fraud and improve security,
- measure performance and reliability.
If we use optional analytics cookies, you can usually control them through your browser settings or any cookie preference tool we provide.
5. DO WE OFFER ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED PRODUCTS?
In Short: Yes — Snowball uses AI providers to generate analyses requested by users.
We offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning (“AI Products”), including insights and analysis.
AI service providers
We may use third-party AI service providers such as OpenAI and Google GenAI to process inputs and generate outputs at your request. This may include sending:
- publicly available platform data (e.g., public TikTok data), and/or
- user-provided inputs and context needed to perform the requested analysis.
No training of public foundation models
Snowball may use data to improve Snowball (including aggregated/de-identified benchmarking), but we do not use customer data to train public or third-party foundation models. Where available, we use provider terms/settings intended to restrict OpenAI/Google from using data submitted through our Services to train their publicly available foundation models.
Opt-out
If you want to opt out of AI-based processing for your account, contact us at privacy@snowballapp.ai. Note: opting out may limit or disable AI features.
6. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?
If we offer social login in the future, we will describe what we collect and how we use it here.
Currently, Snowball does not require social logins to use the Services.
7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We keep your information as long as necessary for the purposes in this notice, unless a longer period is required by law.
We retain information to:
- provide the Services and maintain your account,
- support security, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention,
- maintain records for legal, tax, accounting, or compliance obligations,
- improve the Services (including aggregated/de-identified analytics).
Account deletion: Upon account deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, tax, accounting, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. Publicly sourced data and aggregated analytics may be retained in anonymized form.
8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system is 100% secure.
Security measures may include controls like access restrictions, authentication mechanisms, encryption in transit, and monitoring. However, no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or market to children under 18. If you believe a child under 18 has provided personal information, contact us at privacy@snowballapp.ai and we will take steps to delete it.

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as:

We do not currently respond to Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) signals because there is no uniform industry standard.

If you are a resident of certain U.S. states, you may have additional rights regarding your personal data, including rights to opt out of targeted advertising or “sharing” as defined under applicable state law.
